An important boost has arrived for coach Brunello’s attacking options, as Bautista Stavile has signed a contract extension with Zebre Parma until 2028.
The Argentine flanker has quickly made his mark in the early rounds of the URC, playing a key role in the record-breaking start to the season for the FIR franchise led by president Gianni Fava. A multiple “Player of the Match” award winner, Stavile picked up an injury in the second home game against the Lions — a match in which he crossed for a stunning try — forcing him to miss the next three fixtures. The club is now working carefully towards his return when competitive action resumes.
“We’re continuing to secure the players who have really stood out,” said Director of Rugby George Biagi. “Bautista has been a consistent performer throughout his three years under Massimo’s guidance. We’re confident this extension will delight our fans — he lights up the Lanfranchi and troubles opposition defences with his electric, unpredictable style. We’re proud to have him with us through to 2028.”
“I signed the extension with real conviction,” added Stavile. “I feel part of a strong project. We’re a tight-knit team with great ambition and no fear of taking on anyone. Every time we take the field, we do it with our heads held high, ready to give everything. The injury has slowed me down, but I can’t wait to get back. The season is still long, and there are big challenges ahead — I’ll be ready for them.”
Born in 1997 in Mendoza, Argentina, Bautista Stavile first joined Zebre Parma in June 2023 ahead of the 2023–24 United Rugby Championship. He made his debut in the opening round of the campaign against Ulster. In 2020 and 2021 he represented Chilean SLAR side Selknam, before moving to Italy in 2021 to play for Viadana and Rovigo Delta in the Top 10. Earlier in his career, he featured for Argentina U20 in the 2016 and 2017 World Rugby U20 Championships.
