Zebre Parma have confirmed the contract extension of lock Leonard Krumov, who will remain with the franchise until 2028, with an option for a further year through 2029. The announcement was made by club president Gianni Fava and sporting and operations director George Biagi. The renewal marks another key step in the team’s consolidation under head coach Massimo Brunello, as the club continues to build with confidence toward future United Rugby Championship campaigns.
“We’re really pleased to have Leo confirmed,” said Biagi. “Both for his sporting value and for the person he is, on and off the field. He continues to grow year after year and is now a cornerstone of our forward pack and a key figure in the Zebre’s technical project. With this extension, Leo will become the player with the longest tenure at Zebre and potentially the club’s all-time appearance leader. He’s one of our most respected leaders, admired by teammates and fans alike — a real motivator who brings calm and confidence to the group. We’re certain he’ll continue to give everything for our colours.”
“My personal and professional story is deeply tied to Zebre,” said Krumov. “I’m proud and happy to keep wearing this jersey. There’s growing enthusiasm around us and an exceptional working group within the club. We all want to be protagonists, earning respect both in Italy and abroad. I’ll keep giving my all, as I’ve always done — with humility and consistency.”
Born in Sesto San Giovanni in 1996, Krumov represented Italy U20 in 2015 and 2016, later earning call-ups to the senior national setup for the World Rugby Nations Cup in 2016 and 2017. In October 2021, he was selected by Alessandro Troncon for the Italy A squad during the Autumn Internationals. A true Zebre centurion, Krumov is among the few players to have made over 100 appearances for the Parma-based club, reaching the milestone in 2024 against Munster in Cork.
