Zebre land a major signing: Italy record-holder Tommaso Allan joins Parma

04/24/2026

284 appearances and 1,645 points across club and country. “Ready to give everything, bringing my experience to a young and talented group”

Zebre Parma announce the signing of Tommaso Allan, who will join the squad ahead of the 2026/27 United Rugby Championship season.

A fly-half and full-back of proven international class, Allan is one of the most experienced and complete players in Italian rugby, with 89 caps and 547 points for Italy. Born in 1993, he brings leadership, game management and outstanding goal-kicking accuracy, key attributes that will further raise the competitive standard of the squad.

Allan’s arrival is part of the club’s ongoing growth strategy, aimed at strengthening its technical identity and increasing its competitiveness within the league.

“The signing of Allan – said Giovanni Fava, President of Zebre Parma – marks an important step in the club’s development. Zebre Parma are consolidating their credibility and attractiveness, not only from a sporting perspective but also at an institutional level. Bringing in a player of this calibre reflects a phase of growth that is also highlighted by the arrival of major partners such as Parmigiano Reggiano and Parmalat. Our goal is to continue building a solid, recognisable and increasingly competitive club.”

“From a sporting point of view – added George Biagi, Zebre Parma Sporting and Operations Director – we are truly excited to welcome Tommy from next season. He plays a dynamic and attacking brand of rugby that fits perfectly with our game model. This is a top-level addition: an established international who will bring significant experience to the squad, adding further depth to an already talented group. His arrival allows us to raise the overall level of the squad in a key season, also with a view to managing the group ahead of the Rugby World Cup. We look forward to seeing him in our colours.”

“I’m really excited to start this new chapter with Zebre,” said Allan. “For me and my family, returning to Italy was a strong desire, and I couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity. Zebre have a project that convinced me straight away: a squad with many talented young Italian players and a clear vision for the future. I want to put my experience at the service of the team, help the younger players grow and contribute to taking the club to the next level. I’m ready to give everything.”

Born in Vicenza on 26 April 1993, Allan developed his rugby pathway between England and South Africa, building an international profile from a young age. He made his professional debut with USA Perpignan in the Top 14 on 8 September 2013 against Racing Métro.

Across two spells with USA Perpignan (2013–2016 and 2023–2026), he made 93 appearances and scored 580 points in Top 14 and Pro D2 competitions. In the 2023/24 season, starting 16 of 17 matches, he scored 173 points and played a key role in securing the club’s Top 14 status.

In 2016 he returned to Italy to join Benetton Rugby, where he spent five seasons, making 66 appearances and scoring 380 points, contributing to the club’s first-ever Pro14 playoff qualification.

In 2021 he moved to Harlequins, registering 36 appearances and 138 points across Premiership and European competitions.

At international level, Allan made his debut for Italy in November 2013 against Australia, going on to earn 89 caps and score 547 points. He has featured in three Rugby World Cups (2015, 2019, 2023) and holds Italy’s all-time record for both points and tries in the Six Nations, surpassing Diego Domínguez in February 2024. He also holds the record for most points scored by Italy in Rugby World Cup history and is the second-highest points scorer in the history of the national team.

Across his entire career, combining club and international rugby, Allan has made 284 appearances and scored 1,645 points.
