Zebre Parma have secured the long-term future of playmaker Giacomo Da Re, with the Italian international committing to the club until 2028. The extension, confirmed by club president Gianni Fava, strengthens the core of the federal franchise as it continues to build for the coming seasons.

Jack is a key figure in Zebre Parma’s technical project,” said George Biagi, the club’s sporting and operations director. “We’re delighted to have secured his services beyond Rugby World Cup 2027. He’s a player in clear progression — a starter for Italy during the Summer Series in South Africa — and brings valuable attacking and defensive qualities that suit our style of rugby.”

“I’m really happy to extend my contract,” said Da Re. “I believe in this project, in the team, and in the fantastic atmosphere we’ve created here. I’ll do everything I can to contribute to the group and bring joy to our supporters.”

A product of Benetton Treviso’s youth academy, Da Re began playing rugby at the age of six before joining the FIR Academy in Mogliano Veneto at sixteen. After two years in the national development program, he made his top-flight debut with Mogliano, spending four seasons there and earning selection for Italy U20 at the 2019 World Rugby U20 Championship in Argentina.

He returned to Benetton Rugby in 2021, where he also featured as a permit player for Rovigo during his debut Pro14 season, before becoming a full-time Benetton player in 2022 — the same year he earned his senior Italy debut against Portugal in Lisbon. A year later, he was part of Italy’s 2023 Rugby World Cup squad in France.

Da Re joined Zebre Parma in 2024 and has quickly established himself as one of the club’s standout backs.
