Zebre Parma have bolstered their front row with the addition of USA international hooker Shilo Klein, who joins the Italian club until the end of the season. Born in Sacramento in 1999 and raised in New Zealand, Klein adds international quality and experience to Massimo Brunello’s squad.
“We’ve been looking for an important addition in this position for some time,” said Zebre Parma President Gianni Fava and Director of Rugby George Biagi. “Shilo brings a different skill set to our existing options and will increase internal competition. We were impressed by his determination to challenge himself in one of the world’s most competitive tournaments, the URC, and by the cultural value he’ll bring after his experiences with the Crusaders in Super Rugby and in Major League Rugby.”
“I chose Zebre Parma because I was convinced by the club’s project and by the opportunity to compete in such a strong competition as the URC,” said Klein. “I’m looking forward to settling in quickly with coach Brunello’s squad, which I have great respect for. It’s a tight, hard-working group that shares my mentality.”
Klein was born in Sacramento but grew up in Christchurch, New Zealand, where he attended St. Andrew’s College. He represented New Zealand U20, before switching allegiance to the USA national team, making his debut in 2024. Last season he was contracted to the Blues and also featured for Canterbury and North Harbour in the NPC competition.
